Defenders Action Fund Hits Pombo for Taking "Free Ride" on the Back of Taxpayers
Newest Radio Ad Criticizes Pombo for Taxpayer Paid RV Vacation and Luxury Lincoln
WASHINGTON , D.C. – Defenders of Wildlife Action Fund today released a second radio ad criticizing Richard Pombo, this time for his family RV vacation to seven national parks and for driving a luxury Lincoln automobile – both paid for by the taxpayers.
“We thought that tax time was an appropriate time to remind the citizens of California ’s 11 th Congressional District just what Rep. Pombo was doing with of their tax dollars,” said Rodger Schlickeisen, president of Defenders Action Fund.
“As our ad says, ‘most Californian’s have to work hard to save for their own family vacations – but Richard Pombo thinks he deserves a free vacation – on the taxpayers.’”
“What is particularly galling about Mr. Pombo taking his family to see a group of our beautiful national parks – is the fact that last year he proposed selling 15 national parks. His attitude must be – see ’em and sell ’em,” added Schlickeisen.
The Action fund ad is the second in a series that will run throughout April.
